In the summer of 2019, the first “Thessaloniki Outdoor Festival” was organized under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Sports, the European Commission Representation Office in Greece and Be Active Hellas. The “Thessaloniki Outdoor Festival” was distinctly different from any other previously organized in Thessaloniki as it took place not only in an urban setting, but also in the suburban nature that engulfs the city.

The depiction of Thessaloniki as a system of urban and suburban landscapes is based on three lines that symbolize the two mountain slopes on the margins of the city, Mount Chortiatis and the Cedar Hill forest (Seich Sou); Thessaloniki’s main urban web, extending along the promenade; and the sea. These three lines, representing the geographical locations of the “Thessaloniki Outdoor Festival” events, became the graphic design frame that encircles the festival’s name. A logo that speaks to every citizen of Thessaloniki. Simple. Concise. Direct. The logo was firstly used in announcements of the festival’s activities in social media of the first two organized hikes in Seich Sou.
